Lynch takes close race at DMP July 11, 2008 After two weeks of rainouts, Delmarva Motorsports Park had some great racing in the features
on Friday night. Jeremy Lynch did a great job in the 600 Micro Sprints after he and Matt Smith won their respective
heat races. Matt Smith took the early lead and looked like he would be the one to beat for his first win at the
track. Smith had a comfortable lead until a caution bunched the field back together. On the restart, Matt took
off again, building his lead as Lynch, Scotty Smith and Randy Oswald fought it out for second. Another caution dashed
the hopes of Matt Smith putting his rivals back on his tail. As the race progressed, Oswald worked high and got
around the black car of Smith in turn two. A lap later, Lynch scooted around Smith and took second. Oswald
led the race with Lynch hot on his back bumper, until Lynch got by on lap eight of the twenty lap feature. Late in the
race, lapped traffic became a factor and coming for the checkered flag Lynch was out front. Oswald had one more shot
at the leader as they came out of turn four. He dove to the inside and tried to take the lead. A lapped car was
down on the inside line with Oswald trying to occupy the same real estate. The two had contact and Lynch was able to
take the win by mere inches with Oswald spinning around finishing backwards in the second spot. Matt Smith took third
and Joey Startt took the fourth spot. Kenny Vincent had a good run to come home in fifth. Results 600 Micros-1) 91, Jeremy Lynch 2) 29, Randy Oswald 3) 88, Matt Smith 4) 19g, Joey

second in his heat. Ryan Wozunk took the heat race for his first win of the season. Wozunk and Merriman were nose
to tail early in the race as Merriman tried to stay out front. Wozunk had problems with his car and fell out early,
giving Merriman a wide berth from the rest of the field. Young Kyle Lloyd was coming from the fourth row, dicing in
between cars and finally took second, setting his sights on Merriman. Lloyd, who won the feature two weeks ago, worked
his way to Merriman's rear bumper. Lloyd looked high and low, but the experienced Merriman held him off. A
late race caution got everyone bunched up and Merriman got a great start with Lloyd falling a few feet behind. Merriman
took the win ahead of Lloyd, who just ran out of time for the challenge. Ted Ennss took third in front of a resurgent Larry
Rose. Charles Cobourn finished in fifth. Results 270 Micro Sprints-1)

Tyler Reed streak to the front at the green, but his lead was short lived as he spun in turn three. The wreck that ensued
took four cars out of competition, but didn't hamper the drive for Taylor McCracken. McCracken and Richie Wilson
were fighting hard lap after lap on the high side of the track. Jimmy Wills came back after a wreck in his heat race,
repairing the car and finishing in third with a great run. James McKinney had a strong car, but had to settle for the
fourth spot just ahead of Scott Tessman, who had his best finish of the season in fifth. Results Pro Mod Lites- 1) 96, Taylor McCracken 2) 15r, Richie Wilson 3) 22w, Jimmy Wills 4) 17, James

got a great show with the Jr Mod Lites as Ty Short and Dylan Evans fought for the top spot. Short started on the pole
with Evans right behind. Evans tried the inside line, but the rain early in the week made the inside hard to pass on
and Evans tucked into the second spot. Young Evans never gave up, but had to settle for the second spot as Short did
a stellar job holding his line making it hard to get around him. James Hill took third with Tyler Hughes taking the
fourth position. Austin Wright started in the fourth row, and came forward for fifth. Results Jr Mod Lites-1) 8, Ty Short 2) 80, Dylan Evans 3) 1, James Hill 4) 8h, Tyler Hughes 5) 1w, Austin

take the lead. Miles Jr stayed high for the most part and kept his momentum up to stay out front for the every lap of
the race. Taylor McCracken tried to gain some ground on McKinney, but had to settle for third just in front of Kirk
Miles who had a hard fought battle with young Kyle Fuller for that spot. Fuller did everything he could to get around
Miles, but time ran out and he settled for the fifth position. Results

Friday the thirteenth
proved to be a great day for some of the drivers at DMP, and not so good for others. The 600 Micro Sprints saw Ronnie
Hayes take his third win of the year, but the points leaders took hits, literally, to finish way back in the field.
Hayes had to endure some overanxious driving, which took Mike Baker, Shawn Ward, Jason Warfield and other top runners out
of the race. Hayes received his spot back at the front of the field but at the restart he had his hands full as Jeremy
Lynch and Matt Esham tried every line to get around. Lynch got around Esham in turn four and took the second spot
with Jon Warfield finishing fourth in his #9 machine. Drew Richmond avoided all the problems on the track and came home
in the fifth spot. The 270 Micro Sprints saw young Gage Green on the
pole, but he lost the lead going into turn one to Ken Lester in his flying #29. Lester was moving away from the field
until Cameron Merriman got second and ran down Lester, passing him coming out of turn four for the lead. Merriman was
never challenged again and took the win again with Lester in second. Eric Heath took third and Charles Cobourn had another
respectable finish in fourth. Young Amanda McClosky did a great job in here #48 car to take fifth. Results 600 Micro Sprints-1) 27, Ronnie Hayes 2) 91, Jeremy Lynch 3) 18M, Matt Esham 4) 9, Jon Warfield 5) 81,

Mod Lites saw another new winner this week as Kyle Fuller took the win in the TUSA Mod Lites on his sixteenth birthday.
Fuller had his hands full as Kevin McKinney tried the low line, and the high line trying to get by the youngster. McKinney
showed plenty of patience and Fuller showed he wasn't going to be intimidated by the flying McKinney. Fuller held
his line on the track and McKinney couldn't get by, having to settle for second. Brandon Dennis and Taylor McCracken
kept the crowd on their feet too, as the two battled lap after lap for third, with Dennis getting the spot ahead
of the young McCracken. Donnie Ackenbrack finished in the fifth spot. The Pro Mod Lites saw Rusty Dadds take his second win in a row after returning to racing this season. Dadds
patiently waited for his chance to take the lead, scooting by points leader Tyler Reed in turn two. Reed kept his composure
and got his car back in the groove to take second, staying on top of the points ladder. Richie Wilson and Jimmy Wills
fought it out lap after lap for third with Wilson finally getting the spot and holding it for the rest of the race.
Donnie Ackenbrack took fifth. The Junior Mod Lites were not to be outdone
as Dylan Evans had to hold off a flying Tyler Hughes for the win. Hughes and Evans fought it out for the entire race,
making all the fans stand on thier feet several times. Brandon Sturgis took the third spot as him and Matt Glanden had
a great race going with Glanden coming home in fourth just ahead of Derek Magee. Dean Seemans and Trent Wiley were nose to tail for most of the Rookie Mod Lite race until Wiley spun in turn
two and had to work his way back to the second spot. Seemans took his second win in a row, keeping him on top of the Rookie
points for the season. Adam Weber finished in third with Josh Clark in fourth. The Delmarva Chargers were hot and heavy with Jay Worth taking the checkered on the final lap after leader Kyle Tubbs
lost a wheel in turn four. The Chargers diced it out for the entire 25 lap race and it looked like Tubbs would
take the win. Perry Waters took second in his Ford Probe and Matt Long took his Hyundai to third in front
of James Woods and Tubbs. Results TUSA Mod Lites-1)68, Kyle Fuller 2) V75, Kevin McKinney

The two battled lap after lap in the twenty lap feature with Lynch finally taking the win with Thomas close on his
heels. Jon Warfield is trying to turn his season around and took a major step Friday with at third place
finish after battling with points leader Mike Baker for the spot. Baker couldn't find a way back around

it wasn't as easy this week. Ken Lester came back after a short break and looked like he would take
the win. Merriman looked high and low with Lester hanging on to his line. Finally, the
young man looked to the inside in turn two and Lester pushed up slightly allowing Merriman to get underneath for the lead
and eventual win. JT Knight took third with Charles Cobourn and Amanda McClosky rounding out the top five.

Modified Lites The TUSA Mod Lites came in force for
the first Regional Race of the season. Tim White returned and served notice he would be the one to beat
as he took his heat race and sat his #93 car on the point for the feature. White had a great start from
the beginning and never looked back as he stayed ahead of rival Erik McKinney driving for Robert Hamm out of Alabama.
McKinney tried to get along side during the restarts, but couldn't find the line. Curt Miles
Jr. stood in third after having to work his way back to the front. Kyle Fuller did another great job as
the young man worked his way to fourth just ahead of Hamm. Pro Mod Lites saw
another first time winner for the season as Rusty Dadds took the win ahead of Richie Wilson. Dadds, bullied
his way through the field and pulled away after he got out front for his first ever win at the track. Taylor
McCracken not only had to battle his car, but his health as well as the fourteen year old had the flu, but took third in spite
of his sickness. Donnie Ackenbrack ran fourth just ahead of Kyle Fuller who rounded out the top five. The Jr. Mod Lites saw the Millsboro Missile, Dylan Evans take the Regional Feature in style.
Evans stayed out front for another win and took the lead in the TUSA Regional Points race. Austin
Wright had his best finish of the year with second as he and Tyler Hughes fought it out for that spot. Coming
for the checkered, Hughes tried to get around Wright, but the young man held on with Hughes close behind. Brandon
Sturgis took his machine to a fourth place finish just ahead of Ty short.
